A happy hello to everyone!
This bulletin is going far and wide, as we understand that many of our past and present members are keen to learn the details of Little Aths at SLAC this season. We are still waiting for the final protocols from LAVIC to be sent to us (hopefully in the next couple of days) so that we can fully understand all the rules and processes we’ll need to abide by for a safe return to athletics.
We will circulate these details once we have received them, understood them and implemented the appropriate operating protocols for our club and athletes. What details we do have to share thus far are below:
When? The season commences on Friday 5th November for registered members (12th November for ‘come & trial athletes’).
Where will we be? Regular Friday night sessions will be held at Duncan McKinnon until the end of the year. Our new track will be completed by then and this sees us return to Sandringham Athletics Track in the New Year. We will then revert to our normal Saturday morning schedule once we are back at our Sandringham Athletics home track.
Program Times? We need need to wait until the protocol guidelines are provided to us, so that we know what group numbers are permittable etc. We will email members as soon as we know.
Track Completion: This is now going to be completed by late December. The weather has been a contributing factor as has the unfortunate lockdown period for construction. Everyone is working as hard as they can to ensure we can restart back at the track in the New Year.
Weekly Coaching: Coaching starts on Monday nights (4.30pm – 7pm) from Monday 8th November, at the Moorabbin Athletics Track for members. All members will receive an email next week advising of the details and once we are back at the Sandringham Athletics Track weekly coaching will revert back to Wednesday afternoons.
